We are two experienced primary teachers with a shared mission: to provide high-quality, ready-to-use writing units that support busy teachers and help children become confident, enthusiastic writers.

Our journey began when we met working in a large London primary school. Together, we took on the challenge of improving the writing curriculum—making it progressive, purposeful and packed with fun, engaging activities. What started as a shared passion soon grew into a mission: to close the gap between writing curricula and the children we taught, ensuring every child could access and enjoy writing.

With over 30 years of combined experience, we’ve seen first-hand how powerful the right approach can be. We know that:

• Children learn best when lessons are practical, interactive and collaborative.

• Talk is at the heart of great writing—peers sharing ideas, building confidence and developing their voices.

• Purpose and audience matter: children thrive when they know their writing means something.

• Most importantly, children deserve to love school and still feel like children while learning.

We’ve worked in inner-city London schools supporting pupils in challenging contexts and we’ve seen the difference an inspiring book and well-structured unit can make. That’s why our writing units are based on engaging, diverse texts—chosen to spark curiosity, imagination and passion for writing while providing the skills children need to succeed.

Alongside our classroom practice, we continue to work as English Leads in separate schools supporting ECTs and trainee teachers as they begin their own journeys.

Outside of school, we both have young families of our own. Now that our children are at school, our passion for education is even stronger. We want every child—ours and yours—to have the chance to succeed, to feel proud of their writing and to experience the joy that comes from telling their stories.
